Some roads in Tashkent to be closed for Independence Day celebrations

Several streets in Tashkent will be temporarily closed today, September 1, due to Independence Day festivities, the Tashkent City Traffic Safety Department reported.

A celebratory event is scheduled to take place in the New Uzbekistan Park to mark the 34th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. As a result, traffic will be restricted from 17:00 to 23:00 on the following routes:

 From Makhtumkuli–Akhangaron Highway to the intersection of New Uzbekistan–4P12 roads,
 Along Chulpon Street to the intersection of New Uzbekistan–Milliy Bagh streets,
 To the intersection of New Uzbekistan–Temirchi streets.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause residents and guests of the capital and recommend using adjacent or alternative routes," the department stated.

For reference, from August 18 to August 30, the section of road between the intersection of Farhod Street–Shuhrat and Chilonzor Metro Station was also closed.
