Bakhtiyor Saidov meets with Japanese Minister of Justice

On May 1, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Japan’s Minister of Justice, Keisuke Suzuki. Saidov shared details of the meeting on his official Telegram channel.

According to the minister, the talks focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan. Key regional and global issues were discussed, alongside areas of bilateral cooperation such as legal reforms, judicial system modernization, and the exchange of best practices in governance and the rule of law.

“We also explored new opportunities for institutional cooperation between our justice systems, which will support ongoing reforms in both countries,” said Saidov.

It is worth recalling that earlier, on April 9, Minister Saidov also held talks in Washington with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz.
