Some products were exempt from customs duty

The import of certain raw materials and equipment for certain types of pharmaceuticals to Uzbekistan was exempted from customs duties.  This was stated in the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers "On approval of the list of technological and laboratory equipment, their components and spare parts, as well as raw materials, medical products and packaging materials exempt from customs duties." adopted on 21 September of this year.

The document approved the list of materials and equipment exempted from customs duty, including:

• raw materials and materials used for the feeding of laboratory animals, pre-clinical research and drug production brought by pharmaceutical manufacturers, enterprises engaged in the wholesale trade of pharmaceutical products, specialized research institutes and higher education institutions, medical list of items and packing materials;

• list of technological and laboratory equipment, their components and spare parts;

• a list of "clean rooms", sandwich panels and ventilation systems for pharmaceutical production buildings.

In accordance with the Customs Code, if the goods are used for other purposes within 3 years from the time of conditional export, the granted customs privileges will be cancelled.
