Pictures showing an announcement indicating that separate places for women and men have been allocated in the interior of the bus carriage in Tashkent have been circulated on social networks.  The announcement states that men and women should not stand, or sit where they do not belong.  “Toshshahartranskhizmat” Joint Stock Company gave an official response to the situation.

According to the official, this situation happened on the route of Isuzu bus No. 43 under the control of the 8th Bus Palace branch.  A quick action was taken in this regard, and this announcement in the bus cabin was quickly removed.

“In order to eliminate situations like the above, extraordinary instructions are being given to all bus drivers and ticket holders, as well as preventing the distribution of various information materials in the bus cabin, not using special posters that are not designated for publication in public transport, and work activities.  We would like to inform you that the drivers and ticket takers have been instructed to act more vigilantly,” said the official statement.

Similar proposals have been put forward by public activists many times in public transport, and opinions were expressed that it should be introduced in subway cars as well.  That is, it was proposed that the 1st-2nd carriages of the metro should be reserved for men, and the 3rd-4th carriages should be reserved for women.
