8548Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov was given the responsibility to assess the eligibility of the mayors of Baliqchi, Jalaquduq, Bektemir, Mirobod, Olmazor, Chilonzor, Yunusobod, Yakkasaroy districts. These officials had not conducted any land auctions throughout the year, as announced during a video selector meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, focusing on the key goals of ensuring macroeconomic stability and economic development in 2024.
The primary source of budget revenue is the auctioning of land to entrepreneurs, contributing 1 trillion soums and 12 thousand new projects last year. However, due to local inactivity, an additional income of 3 trillion soums was lost.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister received instructions to evaluate the eligibility of mayors in several districts who had not conducted land auctions in the past year. It was decided that the Davactive Agency would develop and implement a 4 trillion soum plan for land sales through auctions.
District master plans represent a significant potential for funds, entrepreneurs, and employment. However, only 17 small settlements have developed such plans so far. The economic complex management was tasked with developing master plans for 70 districts by the year's end and for all districts in the following year.
Addressing the issue of the hidden economy, the President emphasized that services, construction, and industrial sectors harbor products worth tens of trillions of soums in the "shadow." This results in a loss of 135 trillion soums to the gross domestic product and 30 trillion soums to the budget.
For instance, 41 percent of construction enterprises reported only 1 employee despite completing construction work worth 4 trillion soums last year. Similarly, 5 thousand fruit and vegetable farms with at least 25 hectares of land only registered 1 official worker.
The President emphasized that the underground economy poses a significant obstacle to law-abiding entrepreneurs, hindering fair competition. Disciplined businessmen often voice objections, stating, "What a fair competition," according to the head of state.
