Aripov meets with Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund

On May 27, at the Cabinet of Ministers, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held a meeting with the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund, Mafalda Duarte. The meeting was reported by the Prime Minister’s press secretary, Bekzod Khidoyatov.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in implementing joint projects and programs aimed at adapting to climate change and mitigating its effects.

Discussions also covered the potential opening of a regional office of the Green Climate Fund in Uzbekistan, the development of innovative greening and sustainable land management projects, improvements to the socio-ecological situation in the Aral Sea region, and the effective use of the Fund’s financial resources.

It is worth noting that on May 12, during an official visit to Tehran, Prime Minister Aripov was received by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. At the Uzbek-Iranian business forum, Aripov invited Iranian entrepreneurs to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by industrial zones in the Khorezm and Samarkand regions.
