There have been reports circulating on social media regarding a tragic traffic accident caused by an employee of the Traffic Safety Department in Asaka district, resulting in the death of one person and another person being left disabled.  Surprisingly, no punishment has been imposed thus far.  In response to the situation, the prosecutor's office of Andijan region has taken action.

In December 2022, the Asaka District Prosecutor's Office initiated a criminal case under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code against M.E., an employee of the Road Safety Department within the Regional Internal Affairs Department. The prosecutor's office conducted thorough investigative actions.

Following the investigation, pertinent documents related to the criminal case were presented against the individual, M.E.

During the court proceedings, the accused, M.E., along with his defense attorneys, motioned to have the evidence declared inadmissible.  However, at the conclusion of the preliminary hearing, the court dismissed this motion.

Subsequently, based on the appeal made by the accused, M.E., the criminal case was heard on the 3rd of March 3 this year, by the criminal trial panel of the regional court.  The court's decision was overturned, and the case was remanded back to the court for reconsideration.

As a result of the preliminary hearing conducted by the Asaka District Court on criminal cases, the petition was accepted, and the case was sent back to the district prosecutor's office for further procedural actions.

Currently, the Asaka District Prosecutor's Office is actively investigating this crime.
