Reports circulated on social media that a female teacher had been killed inside a school building in Asaka District of Andijan Region. Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office, provided details to QALAMPIR.UZ regarding the incident.

According to him, the incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on January 27 at a school in Asaka District. A male employee of the same school, following a dispute that arose due to family disagreements, attacked his 34-year-old wife, who also worked at the school. Using a household knife he had brought with him, he inflicted multiple stab wounds, intentionally killing her.

After the attack, the man returned to his residence and attempted to take his own life by stabbing himself several times in the abdomen with the same knife. His brother discovered him and took him to a hospital, where doctors managed to save his life through timely medical assistance.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man under Article 97, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which covers intentional homicide.

For reference, earlier reports indicated that in Surkhandarya Region, a 71-year-old man killed his wife for failing to prepare lunch.
