A total of 6 billion soums were allocated from various sources for the "Sounds of the World" international national pop art festival, which took place in Khanabad, Andijan region, from July 29 to 31. This information was reported by the press service of the regional government.

It was noted that during the festival, the number of domestic and foreign visitors to the city of Khanabad increased by 2.5 times, reaching 2 million people. Consequently, the income of business entities saw a significant rise. In particular, during the first seven months of 2024, the income amounted to 48 billion soums, with 8.5 billion soums generated between July 29 and 31, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, effectively doubling.

According to the administration, these indicators demonstrate an increase in the income of business entities and residents of Khanabad. The number of entrepreneurs engaged in trade and service activities was 48 in 2023. During the international event in 2024, the number of continuously operating businesses increased to 230, nearly a fivefold rise. Additionally, the number of beds in country yards and home hotels serving guests increased from 1,900 to 6,000.

Moreover, drawing from the experiences of "Saykhunabad" and "Uychi" in increasing the income of the population, providing employment, and supporting low-income citizens, over 600 houses and hotels have been established.

It is worth recalling that during a dialogue with journalists in Khanabad regarding the "Voices of the World" international festival, Shuhrat Abdurahmanov, the governor of the Andijan region, remarked, "Don't look for poplar in my words. Don't be busy looking for evil. You can't do anything bad anyway... Your hair will turn gray or fall out as soon as you think about it, but nothing else will happen," his comments sparked intense debates.
