Andijan residents caught in job scam targeting workers for Japan

2517Law enforcement agencies in Andijan have detained individuals who promised to send Uzbek citizens to Japan for work in exchange for money. This was reported by the State Security Service (SSS).
In one case, a 30-year-old resident of Andijan advertised false employment opportunities in Japan via social media, gaining the trust of many people. He was caught red-handed while accepting $7,400 from a citizen of Tashkent in exchange for bypassing legal employment procedures. A criminal case was initiated against him under Article 168 (Fraud), Part 2, Clause "a" of the Criminal Code.
In a separate incident, a 28-year-old resident of the Altynkol district, in collaboration with an acquaintance from Tashkent, falsely promised a citizen from the capital a job in Japan through their "official connections". They demanded $2,500 for the service. During an operation by law enforcement agencies, the Tashkent resident was caught while receiving the money. A criminal case was also initiated under Article 168, Part 2, Clause "a".
Earlier, a similar case was reported in Tashkent, where an individual was detained for promising to send someone to the United States for $40,000. In that case, a criminal case was opened under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 28, 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code.
