Underground gambling operation discovered in Andijan (video)

Authorities in Andijan region's Oltinkul district uncovered an illegal gambling operation organized inside a private residence, according to a report from the Regional Police Department.

The crackdown was part of the “Safe and Healthy Nation” preventive initiative, conducted jointly by Andijon’s police and Oltinko‘l district law enforcement. During the operation, officers found evidence of a high-risk gambling setup.

At the scene, authorities seized 580,000 UZS, eight animal bone dice, two bowls, and 20,000 UZS in betting money from the homeowner, who allegedly hosted the illicit games.

Investigations into the case are ongoing, with preliminary inquiries being conducted.

Under Article 278 of the Criminal Code, individuals who organize or maintain gambling houses face up to seven years in prison if convicted.

Previously, in the Namangan region’s Chortok district, a school principal was caught gambling inside their office.
