Assistant judge caught with bribe in Andijan

A senior assistant to a judge of the Civil Affairs Panel of the Andijan Regional Court has been caught accepting a bribe of 3 million 800 thousand soums. This was reported by the State Security Service.

It was established that the assistant judge had filed a lawsuit on behalf of a woman born in 1992, a resident of Andijan, with the Andijan Interdistrict Civil Court. Through high-ranking acquaintances, he demanded $500 in exchange for issuing a decision to transfer part of the property belonging to the woman’s ex-husband in her favor.

The senior assistant judge had already received \$200 of the requested sum.

During an urgent operation in Andijan, he was detained with physical evidence while receiving the remaining 3 million 800 thousand soums.

A criminal case has been initiated against the assistant judge under Article 168 (fraud), Part 3, Subparagraph “c,” and Article 28,211 (bribery), Part 1 of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of an arrest has been applied.

It is worth noting that earlier, a prosecutor in the Surkhandarya region was caught taking a bribe of $1,300.
