Bribery incidents involving electrical engineers were uncovered in Andijan

In the Andijan region, two engineers from an electrical network company were arrested for accepting a bribe of 20 million soums from a businessman. The Department of Combating Economic Crimes reported the incident.
The operation to protect the rights of business entities was conducted in collaboration with the Khojaabad district department, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other relevant authorities. During the operation, Sh.V., an engineer from the district electric network enterprise, was apprehended while receiving the bribe from the head of the business, Kh.T.
According to statements made during the investigation, the incident occurred outside the administrative building of the JSC "Territorial Electric Networks." Another engineer, A.A., was found to have taken 20 million soums from Sh.V. and subsequently returned 5 million soums, at which point he was also caught with the money.
As a result of these findings, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are currently ongoing.
This follows a previous report of farms in Jizzakh stealing 745.3 million soums worth of electricity.
