A man who falsely promised to arrange employment in Canada was detained in the Andijan region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the report, during an operation conducted jointly with the Pakhtaabad District Division of the Department and the district’s Internal Affairs Directorate, a citizen identified as H.M. was caught red-handed. He had gained the trust of citizen O.N. by claiming, through alleged connections at an embassy, that he could secure a job in Canada in exchange for \$3,000.

Authorities confirmed that H.M. was detained with material evidence at the scene. A criminal case has been opened under Article 168 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Fraud), and an investigation is currently underway.

It should be recalled that similar incidents have recently occurred in Samarkand region and the city of Tashkent, where individuals were detained for falsely promising jobs in Germany and the United Kingdom.
