Man who killed the inspector in Andijan caught hiding in a cemetery (video)

On July 1, a preventive inspector was fatally stabbed during a call in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region. The 65-year-old suspect fled the scene but has since been apprehended. On July 4, authorities located the suspect hiding in a cemetery. This was reported by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shohruh Giyasov.

According to the report, the suspect—identified as Yunusali Kholbazorov—was found at approximately 06:30 a.m. in the Soqoloq cemetery of the Yuksalish neighborhood in Khojaabad district. Upon being detained, the suspect stabbed himself in the abdomen. He was given first aid on the scene and then hospitalized.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 2, Article 97 (Murder) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative proceedings are ongoing.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, we express our gratitude to the citizens who assisted in the arrest of the criminal,” the statement added.

It is worth recalling that a similar violent incident occurred earlier in the Surkhandarya region, where a 71-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in her home. The victim, born in 1954 and residing in the “Buyuk Kelajak” neighborhood of Denov district, suffered four stab wounds to the head.
