In August–September of this year, as a result of multi-stage special operations carried out by the customs authorities in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, large distributors of the “Deadpool” Telegram drug store, one of the biggest in Central Asia, were detained. According to the State Customs Committee, the network had been operating in Uzbekistan since 2017 and had around 4,000 active subscribers.
According to the report, on August 31 this year, during a joint operation conducted by officers of the Andijan Regional Customs Department and other law enforcement agencies at the Kyrgyz–Uzbek state border in the Khojaobod district of Andijan region, an Uzbek citizen was detained while receiving two blue-taped packages thrown from Kyrgyzstan. The packages contained 602 grams of the synthetic drug alpha-PVP. It was established that the drugs were sent under the instructions of “Deadpool” curator Warren Buffett through a warehouse manager working for the network in Kyrgyzstan. During interrogation, the detainee admitted to working for the network since 2023, distributing an average of 20 kilograms (about 100,000 doses) per year, and a total of 50 kilograms (about 250,000 doses) of synthetic drugs over the past three years.
In addition, on September 10 this year, officers of the Tashkent Regional Customs Department, together with other law enforcement officials, carried out a controlled delivery operation in the Zangiota district of Tashkent region. During the operation, two citizens were detained while receiving 492.2 grams of the synthetic drug clephedrone, which had been wrapped in 20 pieces of black tape and hidden inside a car battery previously discovered at the Navoiy border customs post. The drugs had been sent under the instructions of “Deadpool” curator Warren Buffett through a warehouse manager of the network in Russia. During the investigation, the two individuals confessed that they had been working for the network for six months, each distributing an average of 0.5 kilograms (about 2,500 doses) per month, totaling 2.5 kilograms (about 12,500 doses) of synthetic drugs over the six-month period.
Each of the major distributors mentioned above reportedly had at least 10 “zakladchiks” (street-level distributors). Distribution and hiding spots were mainly chosen near recreation parks and educational institutions in the Yashnabad, Mirzo Ulugbek, and Bektemir districts of Tashkent city, as well as in the Chirchik and Yukori Chirchik districts of Tashkent region. A criminal case has been initiated by the customs authorities in connection with the incident.
It is worth noting that earlier, a resident of Fergana region was detained for storing potent pharmaceutical drugs worth a total of 412 million soums in his home. In another case, a man was apprehended in Tashkent while transporting 967 grams of hashish in his car.
