Group of gamblers detained in Andijan

A group of individuals was detained while gambling in Shahrixon District of Andijan Region. This was reported by UzA.

According to the report, on January 24 of this year, during an оператив-search operation conducted by officers of the Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs jointly with the regional department of the State Security Service, it was established that a resident of Shahrixon District born in 1987 had gathered a group of individuals at his residence and created conditions for organizing and conducting gambling games based on risk in exchange for material gain.

During the operation, a total of 10,254,000 soums in cash, as well as USD 400, 170,000 soums prepared to be handed over to the game organizer, and 36 playing cards were seized and officially documented as material evidence.

In connection with this incident, the investigative unit under the Shahrixon District Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 278 of the Criminal Code (organization and conduct of gambling and other games based on risk). Investigative actions are currently underway.

It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that 20 kilograms of marijuana were found at the home of a 75-year-old resident in Jalakuduk District of Andijan Region.
