Agency chief specialist detained with $15,000 bribe in Andijan

A chief specialist of the regional department of the State Assets Management Agency was detained with $15,000 in Andijan Region. This was reported by the State Security Service.

According to the report, the regional departments of the State Assets Management Agency and the Center for the Effective Use of State Property Facilities in Andijan Region had filed an appeal with a civil court to terminate a trilateral agreement with a local entrepreneur over the purchase of a real estate facility in Izboskan district, collect a surcharge and impose a fine. The appeal was filed on the grounds that the entrepreneur had allegedly failed to comply with the terms of the agreement, which required payment of the main installments.

After learning about the case, the chief specialist of the regional department of the State Assets Management Agency allegedly demanded $15,000 in exchange for resolving the court ruling in favor of the entrepreneur through acquaintances in senior positions and ensuring that the agreement was not terminated.

The official’s illegal actions were stopped when he received the requested money through a third party.

A criminal case has been opened over the incident, and investigative actions are underway.

Earlier, illegal cases related to obtaining permits and assigning pensions were uncovered in Tashkent Region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
