People who set fire to 47 grain fields in the Andijan region were fined. This information was reported by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

During a conducted inspection, despite warnings, 47 unharvested grain fields in the Izboskan district were burned. Pursuant to Article 88, Part 3 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Failure to comply with requirements for atmospheric air protection), administrative reports were issued to 35 offenders. Each was fined 34 million soums, an amount 100 times the base calculation.

"The fires caused damage totaling 107,655,000 soums to the farm owners. Documents pertaining to the violations committed by officials have been submitted to the Izboskan district court for criminal proceedings under Article 245, Part 3 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility,” the report stated. 

It should be noted that by July 2024, 1,960 cases of burning straw and crop residues were recorded on 23,273 hectares of land cleared of grain crops across the republic.
