Criminal case opened over violence against 20-year-old girl in Andijan

Earlier, it was reported that a businesswoman in Andijan assaulted a 20-year-old saleswoman born in 2005. A criminal case has now been opened against the woman, the regional Main Department of Internal Affairs reported.

The incident took place on December 15, 2024, in the Hunarmand neighborhood of Andijan. The owner of a clothing store committed violence against her employee, a young saleswoman, following a dispute over a mutual loan.

According to the report, the Investigation Department under the Andijan Regional Internal Affairs Department has initiated a criminal case against the suspect under Part 2 of Article 138 of the Criminal Code (illegal deprivation of liberty by force). The woman has been detained in accordance with procedural law. The case is currently under the supervision of the Andijan Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The department also urged other potential victims of the suspect’s unlawful actions to contact the short number 102, the Andijan city Internal Affairs Department at 74-223-59-52, or the nearest internal affairs office.

It should be noted that earlier, a group of girls was involved in a fight at a recreation park in the city of Navoi.
