6603During an extraordinary session of the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies on April 3, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed constructing multi-story shopping centers in lieu of state office structures on Amir Temur Shoh Street in Tashkent.
President Mirziyoyev highlighted Yunusobod district's strategic location within Tashkent, attracting numerous entrepreneurs eager to invest and generate employment opportunities without resorting to loans. However, the primary challenge for them remains securing suitable locations within the district.
In the past seven years, Amir Temur Avenue has emerged as a prime destination for entrepreneurs and a focal point for regional development. Yet, within its 6-kilometer stretch, outdated state offices spanning 3-4 floors dot the landscape, hindering its potential.
The proposal aims to transform these aging buildings into multi-story commercial complexes, service outlets, eateries, offices, and hotels, potentially increasing entrepreneurial opportunities and job creation, along with the provision of parking facilities.
By repurposing bank branches and utilizing the 24.5 hectares currently occupied by state organizations, such initiatives could be realized, fostering economic growth and urban revitalization.
