Alisher Khojayev resigned from the chairmanship of the NTRC of Uzbekistan

Alisher Khojayev has stepped down from his role as the chairman of  the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, as reported by UzA.

Born in 1963 in the Tashkent region, Alisher Khojayev, a physics teacher graduate from Samarkand State University in 1985, held the position of a chairman of the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan for nearly 19 years.

Between 1985 and 1993, Khojayev engaged in research institutes and production associations affiliated with the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Following that, he served as a system engineer at NKK company from 1993 to 1996, transitioning to leadership roles from 1996 onwards. Notably, he held the position of general director at "KomUzAziya" company until 1998 and at UzPAK company from 1998 to 2001. Subsequently, he worked as the deputy secretary of the National Security Council (2001-2002) and as the deputy head of the Communications and Information Agency of Uzbekistan (2002-2005).

Alisher Khojayev took on the role of chairman of the Uzbekistan Broadcasting Company on April 15, 2005, maintaining this position until January 2017. Following a hiatus prompted by criticism, he resumed his position in August 2017.

Abdurashid Joraboyev has now assumed the role of chairman, succeeding Alisher Khojayev. Before this appointment, Joraboyev served as the head of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Prior to that, he worked as a deputy adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, focusing on youth, science, education, health, culture, and sports issues.
