At the World Weightlifting Championships in Fjord, Norway, Uzbek athlete Akbar Juraev set a world record in the snatch.
Competing in the -110 kg weight category, Juraev broke the world records with lifts of 196 kg in the snatch and 228 kg in the clean and jerk. He won three gold medals—in both individual disciplines and in the overall standings—becoming a three-time world champion. Juraev had also won the 2021 and 2023 tournaments.

Ruslan Nurudinov, who finished fourth in the snatch, lifted 228 kg in the clean and jerk. His combined total after two events was 414 kg, earning the 33-year-old athlete two bronze medals.
It is worth noting that in May of this year, at the Asian Weightlifting Championships in China, Uzbek national team member Akbar Juraev also won three gold medals.
