2361Today, November 13, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Afghanistan was also felt in Surkhandarya, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Prognostic Monitoring.
The earthquake occurred at 10:13 local time, with coordinates 36.4 degrees north latitude and 71.2 degrees east longitude. It registered a magnitude of 5.8 and was located at a depth of 100 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was 568 km southeast of Tashkent.
In Uzbekistan, the quake’s tremors were felt at 2 points in the Surkhandarya region, located 362 km from the epicenter.
As a reminder, a previous 5.8-magnitude earthquake in Afghanistan had also been felt in Uzbekistan, where its intensity reached 2 points in the Surkhandarya region, at a distance of 300 km from the epicenter.
