17035The two-lane system in the departure direction of international airports in Uzbekistan has been finished, as reported by the Customs Committee.
According to the statement, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, through Decision No. 363 dated August 11, 2023, approved changes and additions aimed at simplifying customs administration in the Regulation of the Government dated October 11, 2017, titled "On the Procedure for Applying the Two-Lane System at the Customs Border Crossing Points of the Republic of Uzbekistan."
"Remote customs control" in the departure direction of international airports has been introduced through the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, No. PF-122, dated April 27, 2022, as part of additional measures to improve customs administration. This system involves visual surveillance in specially designated areas. As a result, the two-lane (green and red) system in the departure direction of international airports has now been fully implemented.
This remote customs control system is designed to facilitate customs control and clearance for passengers departing through international airports, utilizing risk management selection principles and remote visual monitoring.
For the departure direction of international airports, a dedicated customs clearance point will be established, ensuring minimal impact on passenger flow. This point will handle customs declarations for individuals and provide explanations on customs legislation.
The customs clearance location is marked with a distinctive graphic sign displaying "Bozhkhana," "Tamozhnya," and "Customs" in the national language, Russian, and English.
Through this decision, the requirements for the remote customs control system at the departure point of the international airports of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been established.
It's worth noting that Rano Jorayeva, who held the position of Chairman of the Board of "Uzbekistan Airports" since February 2021, departed from her role on August 7 of this year. Her departure was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov and Ilhom Mahkamov, who expressed respect and honor, a departure in contrast to those who were removed from their posts.
The details of the employment contract with Rano Dzhorayeva and the reasons for its premature termination have not been disclosed. Given her extensive background, which includes living in Russia for many years and occupying high-ranking positions, rumors have circulated that she was involved in projects led by Uzbek billionaire Alisher Usmanov. Additionally, some individuals associate Jorayeva's leaving from "Uzbekistan Airports" with the Western sanctions imposed on Russia and Usmanov's affiliated companies and individuals.
