3057Uzbek Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov concluded his participation in the 6th "Tata Steel Chess India" tournament held in Kolkata, India, with a commendable performance. Earlier, it was reported that he held Norwegian chess legend Magnus Carlsen to a draw in the final round.
After nine rounds, Abdusattorov secured 5 points with three wins, four draws, and two losses, earning him a respectable 5th-place finish and a prize of $2,000.
Carlsen dominated the tournament, finishing in 1st place with 7.5 points and claiming the top prize of $10,000. Indian chess prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa and American grandmaster Wesley So completed the podium, finishing in 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
The tournament featured some of the world's strongest players, showcasing intense competition and high-level chess strategies.
