Abdulla Aripov Attends EAEU Meeting in Moscow

On December 13, the Council of Heads of Government of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) held its latest meeting. Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, who is on a working visit to Moscow, participated in the meeting as a representative of an observer state, according to the Government of Uzbekistan's official portal.

The meeting was attended by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Cruz, who joined via video address.

"Uzbekistan expressed its interest in developing multilateral economic cooperation with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in the status of an observer. According to the results of the first ten months of this year, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with the countries of the EAEU increased by 12 percent," the report highlighted.

It was noted that significant growth has been observed in the fields of investment, transport and logistics, and tourism between Uzbekistan and EAEU member countries. In this context, the creation of an international transport corridor connecting Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan was deemed of particular importance.

The implementation of a three-year Joint Action Plan, signed during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Yerevan in October, has commenced. Preparations are also underway for a joint meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Council, as well as the fourth meeting of the joint working group on cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission, both scheduled for next spring.

At the meeting, Uzbekistan called on participants to actively support the initiatives proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the last Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting.

It should be noted that the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting was held in Moscow on May 8 of this year, with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
