Illegal fireworks worth 5.5 billion soms were seized

In Uzbekistan, 5.5 billion soms worth of pyrotechnics were seized from illegal circulation in 2022.  This was reported by the State Customs Committee.

It is noted that 123 cases of violations of the customs law related to the illegal circulation of pyrotechnics were detected as a result of the rapid measures carried out since the beginning of the year.

As a result, more than 7,435,000 firework items worth 5.5 billion soms were seized from illegal circulation.  The amount of these fireworks increased by 62% compared to the same period last year.

In particular, 2 million 137 thousand pieces in Fergana, 1 million 514 thousand pieces in Tashkent city, 920 thousand pieces in Kashkadarya, 825.9 thousand pieces in Syrdarya, 791.3 thousand pieces in Surkhandarya, and 519 thousand pieces in Andijan were taken.

As of today, 16 December, criminal cases have been initiated on 24 of the detected customs violations.  In addition, investigators from the customs authorities are carrying out investigations of 30 cases.
