Officials were caught with bribes in four regions (video)

Several officials in the Tashkent, Khorezm, Samarkand, and Kashkadarya regions were caught accepting bribes, as reported by the State Security Service.

In the Tashkent region, the chief engineer of the gas supply department at "Orta Chirchik Tumangaz" was apprehended with physical evidence after receiving 8,500 USD. This bribe was in exchange for connecting a building, intended for bread production, to the gas network, completing technical documents, installing a meter, laying gas pipes, and performing other related work.

In the Khorezm region, an expert from the "Khazorasp Free Economic Zone Directorate" was caught after gaining the trust of a citizen from the Koshkupir district, demanding 6,000 USD, and receiving 3,500 USD. Another bribery case in the province occurred in the Bogot district, where a district official of the Chamber of Commerce used his high-ranking connections to demand 3,000 USD in exchange for restoring the land ownership rights of a resident of Urgench. He was caught receiving 400 USD and 1,200,000 soums.

Additionally, the acting head of the Chirakchi district medical association in the Kashkadarya region was caught with physical evidence after accepting 1,500 USD in exchange for recruiting two individuals to the association.

In the city of Samarkand, a customs clearance specialist working for an LLC trading in motor vehicle spare parts imported from Turkey, valued at 850 million soums, demanded 1,300 USD in exchange for quickly and cheaply issuing a customs cargo declaration through his contacts in the customs offices. He was apprehended after receiving 1,100 USD of the requested amount. The head of a customs post under the Samarkand regional customs department, who was involved in the case, was also caught with physical evidence while receiving 200 USD.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that a prosecutor and a senior inspector, who had abused their positions in the Syrdarya region and Tashkent city, were also caught accepting bribes.
