The trial of S.M., a suspect in the murder of a 3-year-old boy in Tashkent, is set to begin on November 15, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mirzo Ulugbek district court. The announcement was made by the Supreme Court's spokesman, Aziz Obidov.

S.M., born in the Fergana region in 1993 and previously convicted, is facing charges under Articles 97, 25, 97, 219, and 251-1 of the Criminal Code, related to the murder and other crimes. He remains in detention pending trial.

The incident occurred on July 9, 2024, in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent. S.M., involved in a dispute with a woman he cohabited with, fatally injured her 3-year-old son from a previous marriage with a knife. After the attack, S.M. fled the scene, and the child succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

Earlier reports suggested the murderer would receive a life sentence, but this was later denied by Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the Prosecutor General's Office.
