It has emerged that several years ago, two Uzbek women and one acquaintance of theirs were sentenced to death in Malaysia. This was reported by retired State Security Service officer O‘ktam Suvonov.

According to him, several years ago, three citizens of Uzbekistan, including two women aged 56 and 54, were detained at Kuala Lumpur airport with a large quantity of narcotic drugs. A Malaysian court later sentenced them to death. It all began when the daughter of one of the women married a foreigner and offered her mother a free trip to Malaysia. The woman invited her neighbor, who had been caring for her disabled daughter for 25 years, as well as another acquaintance, to travel with her.

Just minutes before the flight, an unknown person gave them empty suitcases. After they arrived in Kuala Lumpur, no one came to meet the women. At that moment, they attracted the attention of airport security officers.

During the inspection, four kilograms of methamphetamine, a synthetic narcotic drug, were found in each suitcase. According to Suvonov, the women, who had unknowingly become drug couriers, were charged with one of the most serious crimes in this way.

Suvonov personally traveled to Malaysia and met the women in prison. According to him, during the meeting, one of the women said words that remained etched in his memory forever: “You may be the last compatriot I ever see in my life.”

O‘ktam Suvonov did not say whether the death sentence had been carried out.

Earlier, it was reported that six Uzbek citizens who were involved in a fight in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in April 2025 were sentenced to life imprisonment.
