Woman was imprisoned for 3 years for attempting to sell her 3 neighbors into prostitution

In the Syrdarya region, law enforcement officials arrested a woman who attempted to sell three of her neighbors abroad for prostitution. Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court, provided this information.

It was noted that law enforcement officers stopped the woman and her three acquaintances at a border post. The woman claimed that the individuals with her were neighbors and that they had come to meet her. However, it was later revealed that the defendant had purchased electronic air tickets using the victims' passports.

According to reports, the woman returned to Uzbekistan from Russia in April 2024. She gained the trust of her low-income neighbors and convinced them that they could earn good money by engaging in prostitution abroad.

In court, the woman admitted that she had also been involved in this field. She explained that her daily earnings were insufficient to support her three minor children and claimed that the victims had agreed to her proposal. She requested a lighter sentence. However, a criminal case was initiated against her under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and she was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.
