The election of deputies to the Oliy Majlis Legislative Chamber and local councils will take place on October 27, 2024. This was announced today, July 26, at a meeting of the Central Election Commission.
The Central Election Commission has declared the start of the election campaign.
Notably, for the first time in Uzbekistan's history, the elections for the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis will be conducted under a mixed electoral system, combining majoritarian and proportional systems. Seventy-five deputies will be elected based on the majority system, where voters cast their ballots for individual candidates. The remaining seventy-five deputies will be chosen through the proportional system, based on votes cast for political parties.
