Administrative courts revoke 13 lawyer licenses in 2024  

In the first quarter of this year, 4,180 cases arising from public legal relations were reviewed by administrative courts in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.

During the same period, administrative courts issued decisions to terminate the licenses of 13 lawyers.

A total of 1,877 appeals against decisions made by administrative and civil self-governance bodies and officials were considered. Specifically, 515 cases were completed concerning the invalidation of decisions made by governors, of which 178 applications filed by individuals and legal entities were satisfied.

Additionally, 768 cases were reviewed in the appeal procedure by regional and equivalent administrative courts. As a result, 105 decisions issued by first instance courts were canceled, and 4 were modified.

In the cassation procedure, 312 cases were considered. Of these, 50 decisions by first instance courts were canceled, and 5 were changed. A total of 357 cases were examined in the review procedure, leading to the cancellation of 21 lower court decisions and amendments to 2.

The Administrative Cases Judicial Panel of the Supreme Court also reviewed 524 complaints and protests in the review procedure. Of these, 59 were examined based on case materials, resulting in the cancellation of 38 decisions issued by lower courts.

It should be recalled that in 2024, decisions issued by first instance courts against 2,581 individuals in Uzbekistan were canceled, while court decisions involving 2,945 individuals were modified.
