How many Uzbeks performed Hajj and Umrah in 2022?

It is known how many citizens of Uzbekistan performed Hajj and Umrah last year.  This was reported by Sirojiddin Salomon, head of the Religious Affairs Committee.

It is noted that in 2022, 12,045 pilgrims performed Hajj, and more than 61,000 pilgrims performed Umrah.  Also, since last year, the quotas on the number of Umrah pilgrims have been removed.  As a result, the processes of organizing queues in some regions of the republic have been completely terminated.

Based on the needs of the population, 19 new religious organizations have started their activities in the regions.  At the same time, the radical reconstruction of 50 religious organizations and repair works of 38 has been completed.  321 religious offices are currently under construction and repair.

In addition, more than 4,000 materials serving to spread religious violence and ideas and views that encourage violence were prevented from entering Uzbekistan.
