12214The eligibility of 16 district governors will be assessed as directed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a meeting addressing priorities in housing, construction, communal economy, transport, and ecology.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that the plan to construct and hand over 2,000 multi-storey houses in the regions last year fell short. Specifically, 124 houses remain incomplete, and 450 built houses are still unused.
Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov received instructions to evaluate the eligibility of governors in Nukus, Qorovulbozor, Navbahor, Kosonsoy, Nurabad, Altinsoy, Muzrabot, Qiziriq, Bandikhon, Aqoltin, Saykhunabad, Mirzaabad, Khavos, Piskent, Qoshtepa, and Baghdad districts.
Despite the housing demand in these districts, no high-rise buildings were erected in 2023, leading to criticism of district governors for inadequate planning.
To recap, the meeting on January 16 mandated the assessment of governors in Baliqchi, Jalaquduq, Bektemir, Mirabad, Almazor, Chilonzor, Yunusabad, Yakkasaroy districts. Additionally, warnings were issued to mayors in Fergana, Jomboy, Ellikqal’a, Parkent, Konimekh, Oltinkol, Boston districts, as well as the cities of Yangiyol and Zarafshan.
