Boxer’s reckless driving leads to teen’s death and prison sentence

30648A Russian boxer of Chechen origin, Sharobiddin Urozboev, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for causing the death of a 14-year-old girl in a road accident. The court also ordered Urozboev to pay 6 million rubles in compensation to the victim’s parents, according to reports from RIA.
The incident occurred on October 3, 2024, when Urozboev struck the girl with his car at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. He failed to assist the victim, resulting in her death at the scene.
It was also revealed that Urozboev had previously been stripped of his driver’s license for refusing a medical examination related to driving under the influence.
This case follows reports of another boxer being detained recently, highlighting ongoing concerns about accountability and safety in professional sports.
