5933A woman born in 1977, identified as R.N., who had been internationally wanted by Uzbekistan’s law enforcement agencies for 12 years, was arrested in Turkey. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
According to the statement, R.N. was accused of committing human trafficking crimes. She allegedly operated as part of an organized group in a foreign country, engaging in human trafficking for their benefit. R.N. has since been deported from Istanbul to Tashkent.
"Any individuals who may have been harmed by R.N.’s illegal activities to contact either the Consulate General in Istanbul or Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and its regional branches," the Consulate General urged.
Earlier this year, another Uzbek woman was arrested in Turkey for unlawfully confiscating the documents of Uzbek citizens abroad and selling them into exploitative situations.
