Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola shared his thoughts on the mental state of the team's new defender, Abdukodir Khusanov, ahead of the Premier League match against Arsenal in the 24th round.

"Khusanov has worked well in training. He is focused on the job. He is new to everyone here," said Guardiola.

The coach also discussed the player's mental recovery and growth in the team.

"Of course, do you think other central defenders have not made the same mistakes as Khusanov? Yes, a high level is needed, but it takes some time. I do not blame Abdukodir for anything. On the contrary, I have to blame myself, who still makes mistakes. It is my job to improve central defenders. I have not criticized Khusanov for his past actions, either publicly or privately. He has only trained once and played against Chelsea. In a new team, in a country where they speak a different language. If I were making my Premier League debut in these conditions, I would have wanted them to help me. And that's what happened. The guys reacted quickly on the pitch and helped him," Guardiola explained.

For reference, the Arsenal vs. Manchester City match will be held today, February 2, with the match kicking off at 21:30 Tashkent time.

It’s worth noting that the 20-year-old Uzbek defender made his Premier League debut last week against Chelsea, playing 52 minutes.
