How much do the authorities plan to spend on Independence Day?

How much money will regional administrations spend on the Independence Day celebrations marking the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence? Relevant orders have been issued by the regional governors.

In particular, the order signed by the governor of Surkhandarya region, Ulugbek Kosimov, indicates that the expenses related to the preparation and organization of Independence Day events will be covered by the Regional Department of Culture. These funds, amounting to 704 million soums, are to be allocated from the increased part of the regional budget for the 2nd quarter of 2024 by the General Department of Economy and Finance of the region. The order notes that this allocation is a measure that cannot be delayed.

The Tashkent region administration plans to spend 400 million soums on the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence. These funds, intended for the preparation and celebration of the holiday, will be allocated to the Department of Culture from the reserve fund of the local budget. The order was signed by regional governor Zoyir Mirzayev.

In the Fergana region, the local government organized the final regional stage of the traditional pageant "The Greatest, the Dearest," dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of Independence and awarded the contest winners based on an order signed by the region's governor, Khayrullo Bozorov. A total of 68 million soums will be allocated to the Department of Culture from the 2024 reserve fund of the regional local budget for related expenses.

The governor of the Andijan region, Shuhrat Abdurahmanov, issued an order to allocate 1 billion soums from the regional budget for organizing the 33rd anniversary of independence. Unlike the administrations of Tashkent, Surkhandarya, and Fergana regions, the administration of Andijan specified how these funds would be used. Of the total 860 million soums allocated, 500 million soums will be spent on stage screens, sound amplifiers, and lights; 100 million soums on decorations; and 200 million soums on music and an additional large screen. The remaining 60 million soums were used to purchase dresses for 24 regular dancers and 8 lead dancers. The administration also reported spending a total of 6 billion soums from all sources for the "Sounds of the World" international national pop art festival, which was held in Khanabad from July 29-31 this year.

Kashkadarya region is among the regions that are spending significant amounts on the holidays. A total of 903 million soums were allocated for activities based on an order issued by regional governor Murodjon Azimov. Of this, 331 million soums will be spent on expenses related to the participation of the regional team in the festive event in Tashkent (including travel, bus rental, hotel, and meals). The remaining 572.7 million soums will be allocated to organizational work within the region, such as LED monitors, stage setups, lighting, sound amplification, event preparation fees for 20 dancers and experts, sound recording costs, 2,000 helium balloons, natural flowers for decorations, and banner expenses, as well as the preparation of holiday greeting cards.

Jizzakh region is among the governments that allocated the largest amount for the event. The amount allocated by the regional administration is a record - 1 billion 540 million 3 thousand soums. The administration provided detailed information on the sums allocated for Independence Day events in the "Urda" park in Jizzakh city, along with their estimates:

  1. The fee for a well-known group of artists visiting the region from Tashkent is 325 million soums, with each of the 5 artists receiving 65 million soums.
  2. 10 million soums are allocated for a voice director.

For the regional creative team participating in the main festivities at the "New Uzbekistan" park in Tashkent:

  1. 10,920,000 soums (390,000 soums per person) for hotel, lunch, and dinner for 28 members of the creative team. 262.8 million soums for 25-day rent, totaling 273 million soums;
  2. 50 LED BAR decorative lights (380,000 soums each per day) for rent - 19 million soums;
  3. 48 BEAM 330W color lights (670,000 soums each per day) for rent - 32 million 160 thousand soums;
  4. 12 fireworks (1 million 540 thousand soums each per day) for rent - 18 million 480 thousand soums;
  5. 50 stage lighting lights (380,000 soums each per day) for rent - 19 million soums;
  6. 8 decorative smoke machines (1 million 650 thousand soums each per day) for rent - 13 million 200 thousand soums;
  7. 40 Led Wash Mini B-eye lights (670,000 soums each per day) for rent - 26 million 800 thousand soums;
  8. Metal construction service for the installation of 300 LED screens (215 thousand soums per square meter) - 64 million 500 thousand soums;
  9. 66 meters of aluminum Tech Truss farm (270,000 soums per meter) for rent - 17 million 820 thousand soums;
  10. Mode Tech Team mechanism winch structure (2 tons) - 7 million 800 thousand soums;
  11. 12 million soums for the rental of the aluminum farm monitoring mechanism;
  12. Video processor rental - 5 million soums;
  13. 3 million soums for staff managing the screen and lights;
  14. Lighting control panel rental - 8 million soums;
  15. 200 million soums have been allocated for holiday fireworks.
