District and city mayors have been instructed to gather weekly reports from schools, address any deficiencies, engage closely with teachers, and strengthen efforts to resolve existing problems. This directive was issued on September 30 during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's dialogue with representatives of the education sector.
It was also announced that the experience of Presidential schools and specialized schools will be further promoted. As part of this initiative, the evaluation system used in Presidential and specialized schools is being introduced in 1,000 additional general educational institutions. However, 300 of these schools lack adequate material and technical resources.
Mayors are expected to gather weekly updates from schools, address any shortcomings, and maintain regular communication with teachers to improve conditions. The governors of regions, districts, and cities have been tasked with completing repairs and providing equipment for the 300 schools that are implementing the new evaluation system but require upgrades, with a six-month deadline.
Moving forward, the quality of education, school conditions, and the value placed on teachers will be key factors in evaluating the performance of regional leaders.
