4287Individuals who promised to illegally send citizens on the Hajj pilgrimage were caught in operations carried out by the State Security Service (SSS) in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, as reported by the SSS.
In an urgent operation held in the Chilonzor district of Tashkent, two brothers, born in 1966 and 1968, conspired to prepare the visa documents required for two citizens to go on Hajj to Saudi Arabia through their high-ranking acquaintances. They were caught with physical evidence when they received 12,000 US dollars in exchange. During the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the executive director of a travel company in Tashkent, who had been previously convicted twice for fraud, was involved in this illegal scheme.
In the Izboskan district of Andijan province, an employee of a tourist company tricked a resident of the district, demanding 15,000 US dollars in exchange for sending him and his mother on a blessed Hajj pilgrimage. He was apprehended after receiving 7,000 USD of the requested amount. It was also discovered that he had carried out this illegal activity in collusion with the head of the travel company.
In another case, a person born in 1990 and living in the Baghdad district of Ferghana region claimed on social networks that he could send citizens on Hajj for 8,700 US dollars. He demanded 17,400 US dollars to send his mother to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. However, he was caught when he received 10,000 US dollars of the requested amount.
The head of a tourist company operating in the city of Margilan was arrested after demanding 14,000 US dollars to send a citizen from the Koshtepa district to Saudi Arabia for Hajj. He had already received 10,000 US dollars in advance.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals, and investigations are ongoing.
