In the Tashkent region, a fisherman who caused damage exceeding 49 million soums to wildlife was apprehended, as reported by the Regional Department of Ecology.

The incident occurred on October 24 during a control raid organized by the post-patrol service of the Tashkent region's Department of Ecology, the regional Department of Internal Affairs, and law enforcement officers.

A citizen, U.D., born in Angren in 1994, was found illegally fishing 656 carp from the Ohangaron River near the Gulbog neighborhood in Angren. The use of fishing nets for capturing such a large number of fish led to a calculated environmental damage of over 49 million soums. The case has been forwarded to the Tashkent regional prosecutor's office for legal assessment.

"Additionally, the vehicle used in the illegal fishing activity was placed in the penalty area, and the fish confiscated as evidence were distributed to families within the local neighborhood," the report states.

Previously, a similar case was reported in the Orta Chirchik district of Tashkent, where three individuals were caught using nets to fish illegally in the Tashkent Sea area, causing environmental damage valued at 41 million soums.
