A 2-year agreement on the use of the “Khairaton-Mazari Sharif” railway was signed

Today, on 12 February, a new agreement was signed between the Afghan Railways and "Sogdiana Trans" on the continuation of operational works on the " Khairaton-Mazari Sharif" railway.  "Uzbekistan Railways" provided information about this.

According to agreement, "Sogdiana trans" will continue its activities for 2 years.

In addition, the parties jointly agreed to speed up the delivery of goods to the station "Mazari Sharif."  He also paid special attention to the training of local specialists of the Afghanistan Railways Department.

"On 10-11 February, 714 freight wagons were delivered.  The delivery of goods continues to this day," the report said.

Since the 1st February this year, "Uzbekistan Railways" JSC, due to the failure of the Afghan Railway Administration to implement the measures agreed upon between them in time, "Hayraton-Mozori Sharif" railway said that the use of the road was temporarily suspended.

Following this, the officials of the Afghan Railway Administration accused Uzbekistan Railways of violating the new agreement on the technical issues of the railway connection between Khairaton-Mazari Sharif. On 8 February, representatives of the "Taliban" came to Uzbekistan to discuss the issue of restoring the use of the "Khairaton -Mozori Sharif" railway.
