Recent allegations surrounding an altercation between a nurse and the chief doctor at a rehabilitation and prosthetics center in the Navoi region have taken a new turn. In response to earlier claims that the chief doctor fatally assaulted the nurse, Hayat Shamsutdinov, the press secretary of the General Prosecutor's Office, clarified details of the incident to QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to Shamsutdinov, the incident occurred on November 25. A dispute arose between 38-year-old nurse M.N. and 57-year-old chief doctor B.I. over the medical records of patients. Reportedly dissatisfied with a disciplinary penalty issued against her in August (a fine of 30% of her monthly salary), the nurse allegedly struck multiple times on her left temple with a plastic pen holder. She then reportedly smeared her blood on her face and clothes, blocking the doctor from leaving the office.

The chief doctor pressed the emergency button in the room, summoning other staff members to assist in removing the nurse.

In her statement, the nurse alleged that the conflict began when she entered the chief doctor’s office to get medical documents signed. She claimed that the doctor reprimanded her for errors in the documents and struck her on the temple with a pencil case when she tried to respond. Following the incident, the nurse reportedly blocked the doctor’s exit, called the emergency number 102, and filed a report. The chief doctor denied her claims, stating he only pushed past her to leave the room.

The case is being investigated by the city’s Internal Affairs Department. Steps include inspection of the scene of the incident, collection of witness statements, a forensic medical examination of injuries sustained by both parties, fingerprint, and forensic analysis of the items involved in the incident. The investigation continues as authorities work to verify the conflicting accounts.

The nurse’s husband, currently working abroad, stated to QALAMPIR.UZ that his wife has worked at the center for 5–6 years. He alleged that the chief doctor had been pressuring her to leave her position for some time.
