61414Renowned cartoonist Hamid Sahari released a satirical artwork depicting the recent Qatar-Uzbekistan World Cup qualifier match, stirring up discussion among fans.
Sahari’s cartoon portrays frustrated Uzbek players confronting South Korean referee Kim Jong-Seok, who officiated the game. Adding humor to the scene, Qatar’s captain Akram Afif appears to be smirking from within the referee’s attire.
"Uzbeks are extremely angry with the referee of the match against Qatar," Sahari captioned his work.
The controversy follows a decision by the referee to extend the match by 12 minutes instead of the allotted 6. During this extra time, Qatar scored, clinching a last-minute victory. After the fifth round of qualifiers, Uzbekistan stands in second place in Group A with 10 points, behind Iran with 13 points, and Qatar, after defeating Uzbekistan, now has 7 points.
