Balconies in Tashkent collapsed due to excessive rainfall

There were reports on social networks that the balconies of some apartments located on Babur Street, Yakkasaray District, had fallen down.  The Yakkasaray district administration gave an official response to the situation.

It is noted that due to the heavy rain that was observed yesterday, 2 April, the balconies of 17-19 apartments in house 59, built in 1963, located on Babur Street, Yakkasaroy District of the capital Tashkent, shifted, then collapsed.

The situation was immediately investigated by the Yakkasaray district administration, rescuers of the district Emergency Situations Department, and officials of the Tashkent Regional Housing Fund Control Inspection.

“The owners of the apartment and the interior of the house were not damaged.  According to the situation, it is planned to carry out instrumental technical inspection by the relevant organizations.  We will provide more detailed information about this later,” said the statement from the governor’s office.

We remind you that yesterday the 2 April, the metro was flooded due to the heavy rainfall observed in the city of Tashkent.
