Urgent weather alert: Heavy rains may trigger floods in mountainous areas

Due to expected rainfall from July 9 to 11, mudslides and floods may occur in the foothill and mountainous regions of the country. The Center of Hydrometeorological Services (Uzhydromet) has issued an urgent warning regarding these weather conditions.

The affected areas include:

Surkhandarya region: Sariosiyo, Uzun, Oltinsoy, Denov, Boysun, Sherobod, Shorchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrobod districts;
Tashkent region: Ahangaron, Bostonlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Orta Chirchik, Yukori Chirchik districts, and the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts;
Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Besharik districts;
Andijan region: Flash floods are possible in Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Kurgontepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.

Citizens living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through these regions are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

There is also a possibility of rainwater accumulation in some parts of the country, which may result in localized flooding.
