In 2024, Uzbekistan attracted a total of 27.7 billion US dollars in foreign investments and loans, according to the National Statistics Committee.
China accounted for the largest share of this figure, with its investments and loans making up 28.7 percent of total fixed capital.
The countries with the highest shares of foreign investments and loans absorbed by Uzbekistan in 2024 were as follows:
- China – 28.7 percent
- Russia – 12.7 percent
- Turkey – 7 percent
- Germany – 5.1 percent
- Saudi Arabia – 4.8 percent
- United Kingdom – 3.8 percent
It is worth noting that earlier this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at the “Central Asia–China” summit in Kazakhstan that his country would allocate grants worth 1.5 billion yuan (about 210 million dollars) to Central Asian states.
