Uzbekistan to establish research support fund

A Research Support Fund will be established in Uzbekistan, as outlined in the resolution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev titled “On additional measures for the organization of analytical and research activities,” adopted on February 10.
According to the resolution, the fund will operate under the Coordinating Council responsible for organizing the activities of analytical and research structures.
The fund's resources will be accumulated in separate accounts within the Fund for Reconstruction and Development and will be utilized according to procedures established by the Coordinating Council.
The funds will be allocated for the following purposes:
- Conducting research in the areas relevant to the Coordinating Council’s activities;
- Providing grants for preparing analytical materials and conducting research;
- Conducting social and public opinion surveys.
The Coordinating Council will oversee the targeted and effective use of the fund's resources.
Additionally, the Coordinating Council is authorized to:
- Place fund resources in bank deposits in national and foreign currencies;
- Attract grants and in-kind technical assistance;
- Allow individuals and legal entities to access research results, databases, and participate in events on a paid basis.
